eeef sponsoring Europe’s largest annual ESCO platform, ESCO Europe 2015 in Milan

On the 21st and 22nd of January 2015, the eeef will be sponsoring Europe’s largest annual Energy Service Company (ESCO) platform as a Strategic Partner, the ESCO Europe 2015 taking place in its 11th edition in Milan, Italy. As a Strategic Partner, the eeef will be available at the conference for project submissions as well as any fund-related questions in connection with funding and the opportunities offered by eeef. The conference expects close to 300 attendees - eeef is delighted to invite some of the Fund’s partners to present their green projects.

Since eeef is investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects of the public sector, not only working with partner institutions such as municipal, local and regional authorities but also private entities acting on behalf of those authorities such as ESCOs, the Fund endeavors to enhance the use of ESCO structures and pave the way for ESCOs in the Member States of the European Union. To support this mission one of eeef’s first investments, successfully implemented in 2013, is an EPC structure (building retrofit plus the acquisition of a combined heat and power plant) for the buildings of the University of Applied Sciences Munich campus in Germany.

The European Energy Efficiency Fund (eeef) S.A., SICAV-SIF is a “société d’investissement à capital variable” governed by Luxembourg law and was initiated by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Investment Bank. The initial capitalization provided by the European Commission was increased with contributions from the sponsors European Investment Bank, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti as well as the Investment manager Deutsche Bank.
